Subsea Actuators

Subsea actuators Fahlke has over 35 years of experience in manufacturing reliable subsea actuators, available for depths of up to 250 meters. Hundreds of Fahlke valve actuator units and controls based on customer specifications are already in place. From simple applications in areas subject to flooding up to platforms or subsea pipeline actuators, Fahlke offers automation units individually manufactured according to customer specifications that have been tested in our own in-house subsea test chamber prior to delivery. Applications Subsea valve controls Platform ESD valves - subsea, riser or topside Subsea ESD valves – double action, spring closing or spring opening Subsea valves Tanker anchorage system - PLEM shutoff Double action actuators (torque: 10 – 330,000 Nm) Spring loaded torque: 10 – 80,000 Nm Hydraulic controls ROV Units Control design ROV compatible actuator valve units with individual controls Easily legible or palpable valve position indicators Water-tight, customer specific limit switch solutions Specially designed controls equipped with quick-release couplers for easy hydraulic coupling or separation of the supply for divers Pressure test equipment Subsea pressure chamber test for actuator valve units to a depth of 250 meters.  Fahlke actuators are designed for long-term use for up to 30 years. They are manufactured to comply with the highest standards. In order to ensure proper operation under even the most extreme conditions, every actuator valve unit destined for delivery to a customer is tested in an subsea test chamber.

LOW Temperature Actuators

-60°C low temperature actuators Since 2004, Fahlke Control Systems has been producing and delivering certified -60° C low temperature actuators for valve automation. However, material certificates for individual components do not ensure the proper function of the entire unit! For this reason Fahlke additionally keeps its low temperature actuators at -60° C for months under the harshest actual operating conditions in its own cold test chamber. Through ongoing in-house examinations as well as acceptance by certification authorities, Fahlke products ensure and will continue to ensure the smooth operation of their processes to energy providers throughout the world. MCE Controls

MCE – control elements at Fahlke Control Design Fahlke MCE technology offers controls made either individually according to customer specifications or proven standard products. Available controls for double action actuators or single action spring closing or spring opening actuators. Equipped with either solenoid valves only, or up to controls with integrated active control components such as pressure limit valves, line break detection systems, differential pressure valves as well as complex control functions such as central hydraulic units, regulating controls or gas/pneumatic controls. All controls are available for operation with gas, air, hydraulics or other media. In fact, Fahlke is also capable of developing controls for non-actuator applications or according to customer specifications. Using Fahlke MCE modular technology allows controls which leave nothing to be desired to be created. The advantages All types of controls are available All control components come standard in a lockable stainless steel case (IP 68) The Fahlke MCE technology ensures leakage free controls (no piping or threads) Extremely compact design Control function can be replaced or altered with a single MCE component Space saving – limited space requirement All components can be quickly and easily replaced Simple control component access via four screws, resulting in minimum, cost saving maintenance time Corrosion-free materials for controls High quality stainless steel/hard-coated aluminum coating All control types possible Quality: “made in Germany”

LBC Pneumatic Line break detection

LBC/pneumatic Pneumatic line break detection system. The Fahlke pneumatic LBC offers the user immediate detection of any pipeline fluctuations and allows the fluctuation to be secured immediately in order to automatically prevent continued egress of the line medium. The Fahlke pneumatic LBC permanently measures a predefined pressure loss rate using the connecting line coming from the pipeline. This provides continuous pipeline monitoring and, when the predefined pressure loss per minute is reached, all connected actuators/valves are switched to their emergency/safety position. The Fahlke pneumatic LBC can either be integrated directly in the Fahlke MCE control or – as shown here – can be built into a separate control cabinet. Adjustment range: 0.5 – 2.5 bar/min. (higher values available on request) Medium: Air, gas Temperature range: -25 - +70°C (low temperature versions available on request) Dimensions: approx. 350 x 150 x 150 mm Mini metering connections: 2 LBC/P designed and integrated into the Fahlke MCE controller technology in modular construction. LBC Electronic Line break detection

LBC/electronic The Fahlke LineStar LBC II monitors the pipeline pressure, determines the static pressure and the pressure loss. The system monitors the pressure loss in the pipeline within a predefined range in order to be able to ensure a correct safety shutoff of the connected actuator valves. Monitors, logs, initiates The Fahlke LineStar LBC II system is a standalone system, capable of continuing to monitor the pipeline after power outages lasting several weeks and of immediately reporting errors to the valve actuator SCADA (remote controls). The Fahlke LineStar LBC II uses a piezo resistive transducer to measure the line pressure and then employs the collected values to calculate the line pressure loss. It continuously calculates the average pressure, records these values in a pressure change log at regular intervals and – after a predefined time period – initiates a valve closure in order to safeguard the line. Because of its exceptionally low current consumption the LBC II can be operated with solar energy. The LBC is delivered as a complete system and is generally mounted in a stainless steel control cabinet (IP 68) to simplify on-site integration.
